Private yoga classes (scroll down to enrol)

Private yoga classes are tailored entirely to your needs and at a time to suit you.  This can be useful when your schedule doesn't allow for regular class attendance, to support a home practice, or to focus on and deepen a particular area of your practice.

Yoga therapy (scroll down to enrol)

Yoga cultivates body/mind integration and can improve flexibility, strength, breathing, posture, balance, co ordination, concentration and relaxation and help to manage pain and fatigue. Yoga may therefore support a whole variety of conditions, including:

  • Addiction & phobias.
  • Anxiety, depression & stress.
  • Arthritis.
  • Breathing disorders; asthma, bronchitis, emphysema & lung disease.
  • Cancer; support during treatment & quality of life.
  • Carpal tunnel syndrome.
  • Chronic fatigue.
  • Diabetes; helps to control blood sugar & stress & improve circulation.
  • Digestive problems; constipation, crohn's disease, diverticulitis & IBS.
  • Eating disorders.
  • High blood pressure.
  • Insomnia.
  • Menopause.
  • Multiple sclerosis.
  • Pain such as; headaches, neck pain, back pain, fibromyalgia & sciatica.
  • Poor circulation & raynaud's disease.
  • Recovery from heart attack, injury and stroke.
  • Weight loss; as part of a healthy lifestyle.

Although ordinary yoga classes can improve general health and resolve mild complaints, they may be ineffective, or even harmful, for serious conditions. Yoga therapy is the adaptation of yoga practices for people with health problems. Yoga Therapy is listed on The NHS Directory of Complementary and Alternative Practitioners and regulated by the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council.

With both initial and ongoing assessment you will practice under the supervision of your yoga therapist and also given a suitable practice to do at home. This may be used just to support a specific condition or period of your life and may or may not lead to integration into a general class, depending on your wishes. No previous experience of yoga is necessary.

Yoga Therapy is complementary to Medicine and should not be viewed as a substitute for a medical diagnosis or the services of a physician. Yoga Therapy can be practised in conjunction with medical treatments being received and also in tandem with other complementary therapies.
