What to expect:
You’ll arrive and remove shoes in the foyer. In the treatment room you'll sit in a zero-gravity chair (reduces spinal pressure, relaxes muscles, ideal for recovery and deep relaxation) which I’ll recline to raise your feet to the correct height, offering various props to ensure your comfort. I’ll remove your socks, cleanse, wax and relax your feet and then work the reflex points with special attention to any current needs, ending with more relaxation and grounding practices. Then I’ll sit you up and offer you a glass of water to see how you are before you leave.

About reflexology:
Reflexology is a technique that applies gentle pressure to your feet or hands. It aims to bring about a state of relaxation and help the body's own healing process. Reflexology works in a similar way to acupressure and acupuncture. Reflexologists believe there are certain points on the feet and hands that represent parts of the body. By pressing and massaging these points it can stimulate energy pathways in the body. If any energy pathways are blocked, reflexology aims to unblock them allowing the energy to flow freely again to restore balance to mind and body. In Ayurveda, the feet are the furthest point from our busy minds and to massage them is both deeply relaxing and helps to ease stress and aid sleep.

About me:
As a yogi, I love feet. There's a saying: 'we die from the feet up' and I do observe that if we have trouble with our feet then it affects other areas of our lives such as mobility, balance, pelvic health, etc. Our feet are our primary contact with the earth: our sense of being connected and grounded, a feeling of steadiness and stability, the awareness of "being where you are," present and whole.

As a human, I love reflexology. I've always found it effective for a variety of ailments and overall it gives me that same deep sense of relaxation and restoration one can get from a good yoga class.

My training:
I chose to train with the Middlesex School of Complementary Medicine with a teacher called Lucy Bush - mainly because she teaches and practices reflexology the way I teach and practice yoga; with technical precision and kindness, by exploring rather than imposing, and with a view to overall well-being.

Contraindications to reflexology:
